2019 is here, the golden opportunity for us all to assess what we want to achieve the next year and work hard towards it. Our body deserves the same – a long assessment of what we want to do to improve it next year. We all want plump, glowing skin and long, luscious Rapunzel hair but that takes hard work, not all of us are born with flawless skin.
Here is a list of my 6 beauty resolutions for the coming year, hoping that it’ll inspire you guys to make your own and possibly incorporate some of the following suggestions into your list!
GOING BEYOND SKINCARE FOR SKIN
Taking care of your skin isn’t just cleansing, toning and masking – there’s yucky stuff on your phone, on your unwashed pillow covers, and your towels that you haven’t thought of putting in the washing machine. In 2019, let’s make a promise to not only take care of your skin, but what comes in contact with it too.
LOVE THY NAILS
Nail care hasn’t been on my priority list for a while now and it shows…Even if I don’t do my weekly cuticle care, I vow to at least not show up at work with chipped nail polish.
THE MAKEUP BRUSHES NEED A GOOD CLEANING NOW AND THEN
I can’t stress on this enough. I know deep inside, while using a powder brush I haven’t washed since August that it’s disgusting and probably harbouring my bacterial friends, but I now aim to wash all my brushes at least once in 10 days.
THE FEET NEED SOME LOVIN’ TOO
One of the most neglected parts of your body, your feet need a good scrubbing too! They go throw a lot – high heels, walking all day, blisters, corns, and what not. Your feet need a pamper day – set an at-home foot spa date, get them scrubbed, cleaned, moisturised, and your nails nicely done up and polished.
SUNSCREEN ALL DAY EVERYDAY
I’m proud to say that I’ve rarely ever skimped on sunscreen, even if it’s raining and cloudy. I plan to keep it up in 2019 with an aim to never miss a single day.
NO MORE SLEEPING IN WITH MAKEUP ON
It blocks your pores, worsens your acne, gives birth to pimples, ruins your pillow covers, why would you do this to yourself?? Let’s vow to not make our skin go through this distress and even if it happens once in a blue moon, make sure you go through an intensive revival routine.
